May 5, 2025 to May 7, 2025
Graz (Austria)

The 23rd Annual Science, Technology and Society (STS) Conference will take place from May 5 to 7, 2025 in Graz, Austria. Organized by the Institute of Science, Technology and Society Studies at Technische Universität Graz, the event will be held in hybrid format.

This year’s theme, “Critical Issues in Science, Technology and Society Studies”, invites international scholars to explore the complex relations between science, technology, and society in an open, interdisciplinary setting.

A key feature of the program is the session hosted by the TIER2 project, titled “Advancing Open Qualitative Research through Theory, Research, and Action”, focused on promoting open qualitative research. The conference will also include a research hackathon dedicated to creating a taxonomy and database of tools for open qualitative research, following the FAIR principles.

Christine Gritsch from Blueprint Energy Solutions — one of our project’s technical partners — will attend the conference as a panelist, presenting the DEDALUS’s SSH framework.

Further information is available on the official websites of TU Graz and the TIER2 project.
